Mzumbe University invites applications from qualified Tanzanians and non-Tanzanians for admission into various degree programmes offered by the University for the 2024/2025 academic year. The Bachelor degree Programmes are offered in three campuses namely, the Mzumbe University-Main Campus in Morogoro (MU); Mzumbe University-Dar es Salaam Campus College (MUDCCo); and Mzumbe University-Mbeya Campus College (MUMCCo). Applicants wishing to be admitted into any of the programmes have to clearly indicate their campus preferences during their application. When selecting a study programme, it is important to pay attention to programme codes, as they signify the campus in which the programme is offered. Applicants can make up to three choices; and that an applicant may be selected depending on his/her programme preferences and ability to compete based on academic performance.
The University has Seven (7) Diploma and Eight (8) Certificate Programmes. Of the Seven (7) Diploma programmes, four (4) are offered at Mbeya Campus College while three (3) are offered at the Main Campus- Morogoro. Six (6) Certificate Programmes are offered at the Main Campus-Morogoro while two (2) are offered at Mbeya Campus College.
Any programme with a code starting with “MU” is offered at Mzumbe University - Main Campus; while the code starting with “MDA” is offered at the Mzumbe University-Dar es Salaam Campus College (MUDCCo) and a code starting with “MMB” is offered at the Mzumbe University-Mbeya Campus College (MUMCCo). Mzumbe University urges all applicants to read carefully the entry qualifications provided hereunder before embarking on application to choose their preferred programmes.

- Registration for non-degree students commences on 10th October, 2022 and degree programmes from 31st October, 2022.
- All payments for registration will be made through the online registration system starting on the respective dates of registration.
- The online registration procedure be will be shown into your respective admission account on the first date of registration, that is 10 th October, 2022 for non-degree and 31 st October, 2022 for degree programmes.

A. Before you start your Application
- Make sure you have a Valid Email Address and Phone Number ( They will be used for issuing feedback on your application status when the admission selection is complete)
- Access the link for Online Application and Admission Portal (http://admission.mzumbe.ac.tz/ provided through ‘ Admission’ button on Mzumbe University Official Website)
B. Registration:
- New Applicants - Go to "Online Admission" tab then click on "New applicant click to register". You Must Register by Creating a User Account (You should Type a User name, A valid email address and a an easy to remember Password then Press a CREATE ACCOUNT Button). You will receive a message “Please check your email to complete the registration process.”
- Go to your email and activate the account you created by clicking on the link you received from the Application Portal which reads. “To activate this account, please click the following link”. You will receive a feedback message “Your Account is now activated”.
- Click of a Login Link here you will be redirected to the Admission Login Page “ Sign in to your Account” You will be required to enter/write ‘ your ‘ User Name’ and ‘ Password’ then click on ‘ SIGN IN’
- Select ‘Entry Mode’ and such as ‘Direct’ and ‘Equivalent’. Specify the Country you attended your A-Level /O-Level, the click “ SAVE AND CONTINUE”
C: APPLICATION COMPLETION STEP: This has Six simple steps.
- Step 1: Accept Terms and Conditions: After reading the terms and conditions click to Select ‘I agree to the terms and conditions’ then press “SAVE AND CONTINUE” to see next window. This will take you to step 2.
- Step 2: Personal details: Fill in personal details Correctly such as Date of Birth , Sex, Marital status, City/Region, District, Sponsorships, Phone Number and Postal Address. Then Click on ‘SAVE AND CONTINUE’. This will move you to step Number 3 .
- Step 3: Make Payment:
At this point you will receive an auto-generated ‘Payment Control Number’ that will be used for payment of your application fee. This number will be used to make payment using any of the following channel:

- Select 4 (Make Payments)

If you logout and paid using branch or at Fahari Huduma, login again to see your payement confirmation details. Then Click on ‘CONFIRM PAYMENT AND CONTINUE’. This will directly take you to step Number 4
- Step 4: Confirm Previous Training: For direct undergraduate applicant write your ‘ Form Four Index Number’ and ‘Form Six Index Number’ correctly in the relevant boxes. Then press ’ >’ to move the numbers into the right box. Then Click on ‘SEARCH RESULTS ’. Both Form Four and Form Six results will be retrieved together with your names. Make sure you confirm if all retrieved data are correct. Then Click on ‘CONFIRM AND CONTINUE’ to move to Step Number 5.
- Step 5: Select Programmes: For Bachelors, Diploma and Certificate Applicants you will choose three programmes that you would like to be considered for admission. Click of the Programme then Push/Move Forward ‘>’ or back ‘<’. They are arranged according to your preferences. Then Click on ‘SAVE AND CONTINUE’. This will take you to Step Number 6.
- Step 6: Check and submit: At this stage you can review all information on your application before you click on the submit button. You are allowed to Edit all the information except the Names, Results and the Application Fee Payment.
- If you are satisfied click ‘SUBMIT APPLICATION’. You have completed the Application Process. You now receive a text message through the Phone number you provided that reads “Thank you for submitting your application to Mzumbe University. You will be notified when the selection process is complete”

Programme Objectives
Under the acronym of BSc. ITS, this degree program aims at equipping students with knowledge related to, on one hand, information technology solutions and business processes to meet the information needs of businesses and other enterprises. On the other hand, it emphasizes on the development and innovation of technologies and systems to meet the emerging and changing requirements of market and business processes. The degree will focus on the provision of the core concepts related to the discipline of information technologies and systems.
This programme is offered to students interested in working within business environments applying computing science knowledge, rather than focusing only on software development. This is especially true in businesses, particularly for small and medium enterprises. The degree programme will equip graduates with expertise enough to keep information technology and applied system in an organization. Program Descriptions
This programme provides students with graduate level education in discipline of Mathematics and ICT and will be recognized by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training as qualified secondary schools and college teachers of Mathematics and ICT. However, it is also suitable for people who serve as Technologists in the Schools as well as in the tertiary institutions both in the public and private sectors. Programme Description
This is a three (3) year degree programme with six (6) semesters, each with 14 weeks of effective teaching followed by a week of examination preparation and two weeks of written examinations. The programme was designed to have library, information and management courses to enable graduates acquire necessary skills in the three areas that can make them competent in the labour market. In this way, Mzumbe University as a leading institution in management sciences in Tanzania and beyond, its pool of managerial professionals will be in a better position to equip BSc. LIM graduates with managerial skills that is highly needed in effective management of libraries in public and private institutions.

Program Descriptions
The Bachelor of Science in Production and Operations Management programme aims at preparing experts equipped with skills and knowledge in Production and operations management to be capable of planning, organizing and controlling the designing and structuring production processes in manufacturing and service industries. The programme is not limited to production and operation processes instead, it exposes students to gain skills and knowledge on how to manage and corporate with other core functions of the organization such as marketing and finance as well as the supporting functions such as personnel people, material management, information and technology and engineering department for effectively and efficiently achieving the organizational goals.

Diploma in Applied Statistics.
Program Descriptions
The Diploma in Applied Statistics is a program offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics Studies (DMSS), which seeks to give students of the Applied Sciences a technical competency in the use and applications of Statistics. The programme aims at imparting knowledge and expertise in the fields of collection and analysis of data which characterizes the statistical work performed in both the government and public sectors. It is open to Certificate students and A-level students. The course is also aimed at scientists – especially Users of statistics, economists and social scientists - for whom statistical data analysis forms an integral part of their work.

- A certificate in Applied Statistics of at least a second class level or “B” average from an accredited institution. In addition, applicant must have at least four passes in any subjects obtained from.

- At least one principal level pass and a subsidiary in ACSEE. The principal pass must be in any of the following subject: Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Advance Mathematics. Where the principal pass does not include any of the mentioned subjects in the ACSEE, an applicant must have passed with at least a D in the following subjects: Basic Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology at the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE).

This is a one (1) year programme with two semesters each with 14 weeks of effective teaching followed by a week of examination preparation and two weeks of written examinations. After the end of the first semester students will get an opportunity of 4 weeks of practical field attachment to any library or information Centre. After the end of the practice, students will write a report of what they have learnt in the field including activities they did. The report will have two credit points like other courses, because hours to be spent in the field is approximately the same as those required for teaching in each course. Students will be taught on the basics of library, and information management skills, so that they can competently serve library and information centres in which they will be employed, under the guidance of professional librarians and information specialists.

The programme involves full-time study for three years, each year being divided into two semesters. In total, there are six semesters to be covered before one graduate, and each semester carries the weight of twelve (12) credit points. Records and archives management is considered to be a new concept which emerged in the 19th century. But this concept has gained value going pace to pace with human civilization. Records are the basis for accountability and effective delivery of services. Modern governments rely heavily upon written policies and procedures and upon written records of formal transactions. The management of recorded information is thus a cornerstone of any government’s ability to ensure the degree of openness, accountability and integrity necessary to fulfill the government’s basic responsibility to serve the public interest. The course exposes students to the fundamentals of public administration but with more focus on records and archives management.
Records and Archive management is important in effective decision making but it is a fairly young field of professionalism in the Tanzania public sector. The menu is designed to offer graduates the fundamentals of public administration necessary to perform not only as a public administrator but also as records and archives administrators.

This is a two years programme that is designed to familiarize students with the very latest thinking on, and best practice in, Human Resource Management. The programme equips students with knowledge, skills and attitudinal competences required for effective job performance as general and human resource officers at lower levels in organizations. Also, it builds their capacity and orients them to key issues and techniques of managing people in work organizations. The programme requires students to complete four (4) semesters of seventeen (17) weeks each. It requires candidates to successfully complete a total of forty (45) credit points, including a field practical of six weeks between year one and year two. Each candidate will be provided with a log book where he/she will record the activities done each week and signed by the Host organization supervisor. This is a two years programme that is designed to familiarize students with the very latest thinking on, and best practice in, Human Resource Management. The programme equips students with knowledge, skills and attitudinal competences required for effective job performance as general and human resource officers at lower levels in organizations. Also, it builds their capacity and orients them to key issues and techniques of managing people in work organizations. The programme requires students to complete four (4) semesters of seventeen (17) weeks each. - •Both programmes Executive MBA & MPA extend over two semesters of 14 weeks of coursework and 24 weeks of research and dissertation writing.
- •Semester I and II are taught in a block system. Each semester comprises of seven weeks in total (five weeks) of teaching and two weeks of preparation and examinations. In each semester, students will be required to attend classes for two weeks in each of the first two months (a total of four weeks) and one week on the third month.
- •Thereafter, students will progress to preparations and examinations for two weeks.

Mzumbe University Morogoro campus offers residential halls with accommodation capacity of more than 3,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The University accommodation facilities are friendly such that can accommodate students with disabilities provided in our accommodation policy. The policy recognises and gives priority to first year female and male undergraduate students.
There are residential halls for postgraduate students and international students as well as visiting international academic staff around the campus. The directorate of Buildings and Estate is responsible for management of the facilities while the Dean of Student’s Office undertakes coordination.
There are private accommodation facilities around our campuses; the facilities are continuously being checked by the University administration to ensure that they provide services in line with the University requirements. This is due to the inadequacy of the facilities caused by the increase in number of students on campus. The Directorate of Students Welfare ensures students security and conducive environment for learning and at affordable rates thereof.
